Richard Prebil honored with 2024 Rising Star Award
(July 3, 2024)
NORRISTOWN - Congratulations to Richard A.J. Prebil, Veterans Advocacy Project Supervising Attorney, who was honored with the LASP Rising Star Award at the Staff Retreat June 28, 2024 at Elmwood Park Zoo.
Prior to the retreat, all staff were invited to nominate colleagues for recognition. Executive Director Shawn Boehringer; Chief Counsel Carolyn Johnson and Director of Operation Phillip Hammond presented the awards.
In announcing Richard's Rising Star Award, Carolyn shared excerpts from nominations.
"His hard work and leadership qualities are demonstrative of a maturity well beyond just five years of service, as is his understanding our client's needs, hopes, and desires to rise above their circumstances. The attention that he devotes to the development and promotion of staff's expertise, the quality and quantity of his community outreach, his interaction with the local bar association, and willingness to assist his colleagues directly make him a Rising Star, but also someone that I and other seasoned advocates recognize not just as an apprentice but as an established leader in our field of advocacy."
"His biggest strength is his empathy and his passion for people in general."
"Richard is one of the hardest working individuals I know. He is passionate about LASP's mission and furthers it each day. Richard comes to the office each day excited for the day ahead, and his enthusiasm for the work is contagious."
"Richard has served in this position for past four and a half years. During this time, he has displayed his unwavering commitment to all LASP constituents including non-veteran clients and staff.
"He has an irrepressible spirit and love for legal aid and LASP."
... "He is a very strong advocate and team player. He is a great teacher and resource for staff, not only in matters relating to veterans rights and benefits, but also in other areas of our practice."
The LASP Rising Star Award is presented to a staff member with less than five years of tenure who:
Has engaged in energetic, effective advocacy for clients;
Has accepted challenging assignments and has actively gone “above and beyond” that normally required of a LASP staff member;
Has been a good team player;
