NORRISTOWN - Tanisha N. Cowell joined LASP Feb. 24 as Helpline Supervising Attorney based in the Norristown Office. Most recently, she served as First Deputy for the Montgomery County Register of Wills, where she provided guidance to the general public and to attorneys on legal filings and procedures while supervising the Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans' Court 16-member staff. Tanisha earned a J.D. from Drexel University Law School in 2009, a M.A. in Counselor Education from The College of New Jersey, and a B.S. in Criminal Justice from Lincoln University.

Previously, she was an Associate at Commons and Commons LLP in Philadelphia, assisting clients with estate planning and estate administration. From 2018-2022, she served as a Lawyer Referral and Information Service (LRIS) Staff Attorney at the Philadelphia Bar Association, conducting telephone and online intake and referring clients to private attorneys, legal aid agencies, and other resources. Additionally, she brings compliance experience from her role as a Legal Analyst at TD Bank in Mt. Laurel, NJ, where she monitored compliance within the Contracts Management department.
