Patricia MacCorkle receives 2020 Pat Brooks Award
(Nov. 12, 2020) BRISTOL - Congrats to Patricia MacCorkle, Bristol Office Manager, who received the 2020 Patricia L. Brooks Award via Zoom, at LASP's virtual staff retreat on Nov. 12. Pat MacCorkle joined Bucks County Legal Aid Society in January 1999. "I started as an intake clerk, very much like I am doing now. I screened client calls and opened files for them and took care of the closed files and compliance issues," she said. She became Bristol Office Manager for LASP around 2003. One nomination stated, "Pat is the pin that holds the Bristol Office together." Erik Hansen, Deputy Director for Operations, announced the award, which is new this year.
Pat Brooks, administrative assistant in the Chester City office for over 40 years, passed away in January 2018. Pat worked for LASP from 1975-2018. Many who worked with Pat in Delaware County describe her as very organized and efficient with a generous spirit and extremely dedicated to her work.
The award recognizes a LASP support staff member who:
Exemplifies hard work, selflessness, teamwork and proficiency at his or her job;
Embodies the highest standards of professionalism and a “client-centered” approach;
Actively goes “above and beyond” that normally required of a LASP staff member; and
Has consistently embraced, supported, and furthered the mission of LASP.
