NORRISTOWN - The Montgomery Bar Association Pro Bono Committee will present a CLE to help kickstart the Lawyering Together partnership between Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, Legal Aid of Southeastern PA and the Montgomery Bar Association, which brings together private attorneys and law students to represent low-income clients.
The CLE, “Lawyering Together: Lawyers and Students Working Together for the Community,” is Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2024 from 12-1:30 p.m. at the Montgomery Bar Association, 100 W. Mt. Airy St., Norristown, PA 19401.
This summer, attorneys Timothy M. Knowles and Anita M. Seth piloted this program. They each worked with a pair of Villanova Law students to complete a pro bono case for a LASP client. At the CLE, the attorneys and students will provide highlights from their experience.
Melina Dixon, LASP Staff Attorney & Montgomery County Pro Bono Coordinator, will moderate the discussion and review the ethics involved when working with students to complete legal work. Lawyering Together is a great opportunity for attorneys to help students develop their skills while also giving back to the local community.
