Grants & Compliance Specialist

SUMMARY

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (“LASP”) seeks a Grants and Compliance Specialist (“GCS”). LASP is a non-profit provider of civil legal services serving individuals with low incomes in Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties. Under the direction of LASP’s Director for Operations, the GCS will manage LASP's performance and compliance with federal, state and local grants and contracts to ensure LASP adheres to all terms and conditions. The GCS will ensure deadlines are met, generate data using existing reports in LASP's case management system, create new reports as needed, recommend system and process changes to improve compliance, collaborate with LASP’s fiscal and development teams, attorneys and staff, and serve as a key point of contact for external funding sources. The position is full-time and is based in Norristown. Staff currently work on a hybrid basis. Staff are expected to perform in-office and remote work.

Staff Attorney – Doylestown (Bucks County), PA

SUMMARY

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (“LASP”) seeks an attorney to provide family law-related legal services in its Doylestown Office in Bucks County.  LASP serves low-income individuals and families in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.  This is a full-time position that will primarily focus on representing parents in Children and Youth cases involving dependency and termination of parental rights, protection from abuse petitions for victims of domestic violence, and custody cases.  Other cases in LASP’s core areas of practice include housing, public benefits, and criminal record clearing.  Staff currently work on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate will be expected to perform in-office work as well as be able to work remotely.

VOCA Staff Attorney – West Chester (Chester County), PA

SUMMARY

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (“LASP”) seeks a passionate attorney focused on providing client-centered, culturally competent, trauma-informed legal services to victims of domestic violence for its West Chester Office in Chester County. The position is funded through a Victims of Crime Act (VOCA) grant administered by the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency (PCCD).  LASP serves low-income individuals and families in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.  This is a full-time position.  The attorney will receive a salary commensurate with experience and LASP’s personnel policy. Norristown Staff Attorney – Norristown / Montgomery County, PA

SUMMARY

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (“LASP”) seeks an attorney to provide civil legal services in its Norristown Office in Montgomery County. LASP serves individuals with limited resources in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. This position has focused previously on landlord and tenant cases including private residential rental issues such as defending evictions and addressing habitability concerns and enforcing rights provided to subsidized and public housing residents. Community Engagement Unit Paralegal – Norristown / Montgomery County, PA

SUMMARY

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (“LASP”) seeks a full-time Paralegal to support the Community Engagement Unit, which is located in Norristown, PA. In 2024, Pennsylvania expanded one of the most progressive Clean Slate laws in the nation. This position will inform communities about record clearing laws through outreach in LASP’s service area and will support attorneys who are filing requests to clear criminal records in courts and administrative agencies. Cases handled will include expungements, pardons, limited access petitions, criminal record error corrections, and waiver of court debt. The paralegal may also focus on reentry issues for those recently released or about to be released from incarceration.  

LASP’s Community Engagement Unit serves Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties. The position is full-time.  The Paralegal must be a team player, willing to handle a variety of duties as needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and experience with case management systems or an ability to quickly learn these and other computer skills are desirable. Staff currently work on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate will be expected to perform in-office work, be able to work remotely as needed, file and attend hearings in-person as needed throughout Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties, and support LASP’s in-person outreach efforts throughout LASP’s service area.

Helpline Pro Bono Bankruptcy Paralegal – Norristown / Montgomery County, PA

(Dec. 3, 2025)

SUMMARY

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (“LASP”) seeks a full-time Paralegal for the Centralized Helpline to support a new Consumer Debt and Bankruptcy Project. LASP serves individuals with limited income, older adults, veterans and domestic violence survivors from Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties facing issues regarding housing, including landlord-tenant law and foreclosure; family law; protection from domestic violence; consumer; employment; and public benefits.  The position is full-time and will be based in Norristown.

Through the Consumer Debt and Bankruptcy Project, funded by the Legal Services Corporation Pro Bono Innovation Fund, LASP will expand its capacity to serve clients by integrating private attorneys into its consumer practice. The project is staffed by an experienced bankruptcy attorney, and a paralegal will help build and manage this innovative program. Duties and responsibilities include providing information to debtors; helping debtors to complete legal forms, intake documents, and retainer agreements; coordinating services with pro bono attorneys; following up with debtors and pro bono attorneys; and filing documents with the court.

The successful candidate must be a team player, willing to handle a variety of duties as needed. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel and experience with case management systems and bankruptcy software or an ability to quickly learn these and other computer skills are desirable. Staff currently work on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate will be expected to perform in-office work, be able to work remotely as needed, and support LASP’s in-person outreach efforts in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.

Staff Attorney – City of Chester (Delaware County), PA

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (“LASP”) seeks an attorney to provide civil legal services in its City of Chester Office in Delaware County. LASP serves individuals with low incomes in Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties. Community Engagement Unit Staff Attorney – Norristown (Montgomery County), PA

SUMMARY

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (“LASP”) seeks an attorney to provide legal services and community outreach in its Community Engagement Unit. LASP provides free civil legal services to eligible clients in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties. The Community Engagement Unit focuses on community outreach and collaboration with a broad and expanding network of community partners. The attorney will plan and organize outreach events and clinics; recruit, train, and oversee the work of volunteer attorneys and law students; and represent clients in a host of legal matters, with a particular emphasis on addressing the collateral consequences of having a criminal record and providing second chances for clients who had previous interaction with the criminal justice system. It is anticipated that a special focus will be given to the Spanish-speaking population in LASP’s service area.

This position will inform communities about the law, help individuals understand whether their records will be automatically sealed, and assist in filing petitions when necessary. Cases handled will include expungements, pardons, limited access petitions, professional licensure appeals, criminal records error corrections, civil forfeitures and waiver of court debt. The attorney may also focus on reentry issues for those recently released or about to be released from incarceration. The position is a full-time regional position, based in Norristown, and will have responsibility throughout the 4-county area served by LASP. Staff currently work on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate will be expected to perform in-office work as well as be able to work remotely as needed.

Helpline Intake Staff Attorney – Norristown (Montgomery County), PA

SUMMARY

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (“LASP”) seeks attorneys for its Centralized Telephone Intake Helpline. LASP serves individuals with low incomes and limited resources in Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties. This position would be responsible for initial client contact, completion of all required eligibility and compliance documentation, initial investigation, and provision of advice. The position will work closely with the Helpline Supervising Attorney to determine next steps, including levels of service to be provided and referrals to LASP local offices or specialty units. LASP’s Helpline interviews potential clients facing legal problems in areas including Employment (Wage Claims, Criminal Records Clearing), Public Benefits (SSI, Unemployment, Veterans), Family Law, Landlord-Tenant, Homeownership, Consumer, Bankruptcy, and Utilities. LASP’s Helpline answers live calls, returns applicants’ phone calls, refers cases internally, and responds to online applications. This is a full-time position. Staff currently work on a hybrid basis. Staff will be expected to perform in-office work as well as be able to work remotely. This position may carry a small caseload involving brief service.

Helpline Paralegal / Administrative Support Staff Norristown (Montgomery County), PA

SUMMARY

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (“LASP”) seeks a full-time Paralegal / Administrative Support person for the Centralized Telephone Intake Helpline.  LASP serves low-income individuals from Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties facing issues regarding housing, including landlord/tenant law and foreclosure, family law, protection from domestic violence, consumer, employment and public benefits.  The Helpline is located in Norristown, but handles new client intake, advice and referrals from the four counties in LASP’s service area and beyond.  The Paralegal / Administrative Support person must be a team player, willing to handle a multitude of duties as needed, and must possess the ability to analyze facts and legal issues quickly, provide sound legal advice under supervision of a licensed attorney, determine which cases should be referred for extended services, and communicate effectively with clients and prospective clients.  The position also carries administrative responsibilities requiring strong Microsoft Word and Excel skills and experience with case management systems or an ability to quickly learn these and other computer skills. Staff currently work on a hybrid basis. The Paralegal / Administrative Support person must have the capacity to work both remotely and in person in Norristown. The salary will be commensurate with experience and LASP’s personnel policy.
