SUMMARY  

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (“LASP”) seeks a regional Legal Training & Staff Development Manager. LASP serves low-income individuals and families in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. This is a full-time regional position based in Norristown, Montgomery County. The Regional Legal Training and Staff Development Manager oversees the design, coordination, and delivery of training and professional development programs across a multi‑office, regional nonprofit legal aid organization funded by a variety of federal, state, and local public grants and private sources. This position will ensure consistent, high-quality practice standards across offices, support attorney and staff competency in poverty law practice, and enhance compliance with funding requirements. The role requires strong cross‑office coordination, virtual training expertise, and a deep commitment to access to justice. This is a full-time position. Staff currently work on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate will be expected to perform in-office work as well as be able to work remotely.

Staff Attorney – Pottstown / Montgomery County, PA

SUMMARY

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (“LASP”) seeks an attorney to provide civil legal services in its Pottstown Office in Montgomery County. LASP serves individuals with low incomes in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. This position has focused previously on representing clients in landlord and tenant cases including private residential rental issues such as defending evictions and addressing habitability problems, subsidized and public housing, and family law. The position may also include other LASP practice areas such as bankruptcy, consumer, public benefits, and other cases as assigned. This is a full-time position. Norristown Staff Attorney – Norristown (Montgomery County), PA

SUMMARY

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (“LASP”) seeks an attorney to provide civil legal services in its Norristown Office in Montgomery County. LASP serves low-income individuals and families in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties. This is a full-time position that will focus on representing parents in Children and Youth cases involving dependency and termination of parental rights. The attorney also may address issues regarding public benefits, consumer law and bankruptcy, employment, expungements, housing, family law, protection from domestic violence, and other cases as assigned. The attorney will receive a salary commensurate with experience and LASP’s personnel policy. Staff currently work on a hybrid basis. Community Engagement Unit Staff Attorney – Norristown (Montgomery County), PA

SUMMARY

Legal Aid of Southeastern Pennsylvania (LASP) seeks a public benefits attorney to join its Community Engagement Unit. LASP is a nonprofit organization that provides high-quality, free civil legal services to eligible low-income residents of Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties.

The Community Engagement Unit is responsible for building and strengthening relationships with community organizations, government agencies, educational institutions, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders to increase access to justice throughout LASP’s service area. The attorney will play a key role in promoting community awareness of legal issues, expanding access to legal services, and fostering collaboration with a broad and growing network of community partners.

Primary responsibilities include planning, coordinating, and conducting community outreach events, legal clinics, and educational presentations; recruiting, training, and supervising volunteer attorneys and law students; and providing direct representation to clients in public benefits matters. The attorney will represent clients in administrative and court proceedings involving programs such as Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Medical Assistance, Unemployment Compensation, and SSI/SSDI benefits.

The attorney will also work closely with community organizations to identify unmet legal needs, develop outreach strategies, and connect vulnerable populations to legal resources. It is anticipated that the position will place a particular emphasis on serving and engaging Spanish-speaking communities throughout LASP’s four-county service area. Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is therefore strongly preferred.

This position offers an opportunity to combine direct client advocacy with community engagement efforts that help expand access to justice for underserved populations. The position is funded through a grant from the Pennsylvania IOLTA Board.  The position is a full-time regional position, based in Norristown, and will have responsibility throughout the 4-county area served by LASP. Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (“LASP”) seeks an attorney to provide family law-related legal services in its Doylestown Office in Bucks County.  LASP serves low-income individuals and families in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery counties.  This is a full-time position that will primarily focus on representing parents in Children and Youth cases involving dependency and termination of parental rights, protection from abuse petitions for victims of domestic violence, and custody cases.  Other cases in LASP’s core areas of practice include housing, public benefits, and criminal record clearing.  Staff currently work on a hybrid basis. Community Engagement Unit Staff Attorney – Norristown (Montgomery County), PA

SUMMARY

Legal Aid of Southeastern PA (“LASP”) seeks an attorney to provide legal services and community outreach in its Community Engagement Unit. LASP provides free civil legal services to eligible clients in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, and Montgomery Counties. The Community Engagement Unit focuses on community outreach and collaboration with a broad and expanding network of community partners. The attorney will plan and organize outreach events and clinics; recruit, train, and oversee the work of volunteer attorneys and law students; and represent clients in a host of legal matters, with a particular emphasis on addressing the collateral consequences of having a criminal record and providing second chances for clients who had previous interaction with the criminal justice system. It is anticipated that a special focus will be given to the Spanish-speaking population in LASP’s service area.

In 2024, Pennsylvania expanded one of the most progressive Clean Slate laws in the nation. This position will inform communities about the law, help individuals understand whether their records will be automatically sealed, and assist in filing petitions when necessary. Cases handled will include expungements, pardons, limited access petitions, professional licensure appeals, criminal records error corrections, civil forfeitures and waiver of court debt. The attorney may also focus on reentry issues for those recently released or about to be released from incarceration. The position is a full-time regional position, based in Norristown, and will have responsibility throughout the 4-county area served by LASP. Staff currently work on a hybrid basis. The successful candidate will be expected to perform in-office work as well as be able to work remotely as needed.
